Editorial and measurement references
The GramsToCups Team is the site’s collective byline. It identifies the website rather than an individual author or a professional qualification.
What the calculator measures
The calculator divides grams by a reference weight per cup for the selected ingredient. These are kitchen estimates for a stated ingredient form, not laboratory measurements of the product in your cupboard. A US customary cup is approximately 236.6 ml; metric and other cup standards have different volumes.
Where to check a reference
King Arthur Baking’s ingredient weight chart provides named weights and volumes for baking ingredients. Ingredient pages with a reference comparison show the published amount alongside this site’s value, including differences such as 198 g versus 200 g for granulated sugar. A link to that chart does not mean every value in this calculator is taken from it.
Always prefer a recipe’s printed gram weights. If it gives only cups, follow its author’s measuring method and reference chart where available. Packing, sifting and raw versus cooked forms can change the result.
Dates and corrections
A publication date and an update date describe different events. A rebuild alone is not a content update. Substantial revisions should receive an update date while preserving the original publication record.
To report a correction, contact the site with the ingredient, value, measuring method and source. Named author biographies and credentials should be read only where an author has supplied them.
